Fadwa Hassan graduated from the American University of Beirut in 1986 with a BSc in Nursing. After graduation, she joined the emergency department at the University Medical Centre as a Registered Nurse and a clinical preceptor for the graduate nurses’ program. In 1989 she finished a Graduate Diploma in Health Education.

In September 1991 Fadwa migrated to Australia to further her career and for a better life. She was among the first group of international nurses who participated in a pre-registration course at Deakin University, where she gained her nurses registration. She joined Frankston Hospital in July 1992 as a general nurse, where she has worked since in a number of roles.

In 2004, Fadwa transitioned to the field of Diabetes Education, and in 2009 she joined Peninsula Endocrine Associates as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator. She is passionate about helping people with diabetes and has a special interest and skills in insulin pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. Fadwa has consulting rights at Healthscope.
