Dr Belinda Hii

I recently returned to Melbourne after completing subspecialty training in endocrine surgery. I completed surgical training through the Alfred Health network and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in 2019.

I undertook my first fellowship in endocrine and general surgery at Footscray Hospital. Following this, I was appointed the Selwyn Taylor Fellow in Endocrine Surgery at the Hammersmith Hospital in London – a highly competitive position at one of the highest volume endocrinology and endocrine surgery referral centres in the UK. Here, I trained with Professor Fausto Palazzo, Professor Neil Tolley and Ms Aimee DiMarco in all areas of endocrine surgery. I gained invaluable experience in minimally invasive adrenal surgery, parathyroidectomy for secondary and tertiary
hyperparathyroidism and multigland disease and re-operative thyroid and parathyroid surgery. I am trained in the use of IoPTH and both camera and probe based parathyroid autofluorescence techniques. I have travelled to Germany to train with Professor Martin Walz – the surgeon who described and developed the retroperitoneoscopic adrenalectomy. I have also co-authored a chapter on cervical lymphadenopathy in PTC. I was an invited speaker at the BAETS meeting in London 2024. Outside of medicine I enjoy skiing, running and being bossed around by my two wonderful children.

I am appointed publicly as an endocrine and general surgeon with Alfred and Peninsula Health. I am available for private consultations in Frankston and East Melbourne, and am accredited privately at Epworth Freemasons and Peninsula Private Hospitals. I would value the opportunity to work with you on providing patients with excellent endocrine surgical care.
