Dr Kati Matthiesson graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1990 and undertook her basic training at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne and St Vincent's Medial Centre in Bridgeport, Connecticut, USA.

On her return to Australia in 1998, she completed her training in Endocrinology at Monash Medical Centre including a PhD at Monash University and the University of Washington, Seattle in 2006. Her research focused on the hormonal regulation of spermatogenesis and the implications for male fertility.
She is a Senior Consultant at Monash Health and an Adjunct Senior Clinical Lecturer at Monash University. 

Outside of work, Dr Matthiesson likes to spend time with family and friends. She is a keen horse-riding enthusiast and has competed in amateur riding competitions around Australia.

Her current clinical interests include general endocrinology and diabetes and in particular pituitary disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome and obesity management.
